
Students are advised to have sufficient funds for their studies and not rely on part-time work to pay tuition fees and living expenses. Part-time work may not always be readily available nor will the salary be sufficient.
Matriculated international students who wish to work part-time are required to apply for permission to do so. A fresh application is required for each new job.
International graduate students
Full time matriculated international graduate students may apply for approval to work part-time through the International Student Centre. Terms and conditions apply. Scholarship holders will be bound by the conditions of their awards. ISC will issue a Letter of Endorsement to successful applicants.
During the semester, international graduate students may work a maximum of 16 hours a week. During the vacation, they may work full-time and are exempted by the Ministry of Manpower from applying for a work permit.
International undergraduate students
International undergraduate students may apply for permission to work part-time through the Student Affairs Office.
Exchange/ non-graduating students
International students on exchange or in non-graduating programmes at NTU may not engage in part-time work in Singapore.
