Donors

Why give

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has its roots in Nanyang University – the first Chinese language university outside China, and one which was established in 1955 with a touching outpouring of donations from diverse members of the community from hawkers and shopkeepers to the Hokkien clan association, which generously donated the land in Jurong West on which Nantah stood.

Today, NTU counts among its international collaborators, American Ivy League universities such as Stanford University, elite European universities such as Cambridge University, and renowned Asian universities such as Beijing University and IIT Mumbai.

Our university has garnered an international reputation for its prowess in science and engineering R&D, and its innovative approach to education, which has resulted in a vibrant and multi-faceted undergraduate experience.

To help NTU remain on the cutting-edge of education and achieve yet more, we seek your financial support. While we are grateful for the financial help the government renders, we are also mindful of our responsibility as a corporatised entity to raise more funds independently.

Like the Hokkien clan association and those hawkers of old who gave of their daily takings because they shared a vision of building a great university, we hope that you too will share in NTU’s vision to a Global University of Excellence by making a gift towards NTU.
